Utah Salt Lake City Temple Square Mission

**Date out of Sequence**

Kimm with two of her friends from High School - Fifty Years!!!
Our 50th high school class reunion was held this week.  For Taggart and me, we had not seen most of our classmates since we left high school.  It was held at Little America and there were about two hundred present.  I personally had been looking forward to seeing my two best friends from high school, however only one was there because the other friend had been called to California because of the birth of her grandchild.  It was a disappointment to me and I vowed to give her a call and get together with her before I leave Salt Lake.    Taggart on the other hand had a great time reuniting with many of his friends.  We were afraid that perhaps our classmates might brag about this or that, but we found that they had mellowed over time.  Nobody was competitive and that was nice.  It was fun to catch up and remember days past because high school does hold a lot of memories for us.  Hopefully by reconnecting, we will see some of these classmates again.

I spent a night at the hospital this week with a sister from Fiji who suffered from dehydration.  Her temperature had peaked at 105 degrees, she was incoherent and shaking.  With the multitude of tests they gave her, it was amazing to me that the only thing wrong with her was that she was dehydrated.  With so much walking and standing in the heat it is so important to drink plenty of water.

Next week zone conferences will be held and we are gearing up to serve meals to two hundred sisters.  Probably buying and preparing food is not my favorite part of the mission, but somebody needs to do it.  It is fun to work with Sister Curtis though because she is always willing to do anything.  She is so giving and caring.  So, next week we will have a Costco run to get food for this occasion.

As always, we have many hospitality tours.  One of the very special venues they can visit is “Family Search.”  Most are so amazed by the information they can acquire on their family in the short time they are there.  One person said that the experience he had at the Center was worth the whole trip.  One of our goals over the next few weeks is to go to “Family Search” and get more familiar with “Family Tree.”  We want to busy ourselves when we get home with family research so we want to learn all that we can while we are here.
